Dr Dan Romeu
I am a child psychiatrist and researcher at the University of Leeds, and I lead the EmCASH study. My main interest is self-harm and I am passionate about improving mental health services for young people and their families.

Jess Dodd
I am a young person who is passionate about trying to improve health services within the NHS, make them more accessible, and I’m hoping to make them easier to access for all kinds of people. My main aim is to help Dan include the patients and public YPAG group in EmCASH and ensure you feel heard!

Usha Kelly
I am a parent of two teenagers that self harm and a volunteer who facilitates virtual and face to face peer support groups for parents and carers of loved ones who self-harm for the charity Battle Scars. I feel passionate about improving services for young people. I am supporting Dan to ensure parents’ and carers’ experiences and voices are heard through the PCAG.

Prof. Else Guthrie
I am Professor of Psychological Medicine at University of Leeds. My main research interests are developing treatments to help people with self-harm and also treatments for people with anxiety and depression in the context of physical illness.

Prof. David Cottrell
I am an Emeritus Professor of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Leeds. My work includes researching family therapy and developing psychological treatments for young people. I also help create guidelines and projects to support emotional wellbeing in young people.

Dr Cathy Brennan
I am an Associate Professor in Psychological and Social Medicine. I am interested in how we can make services better for people who self-harm and do research that helps us to understand people’s experiences of seeking help.

Dr Sam Relton
I am an Associate Professor in Health Data Science at the University of Leeds. I am particularly focused on the use of electronic healthcare records, from the GP and hospital, to help improve patient care and service delivery across the NHS.
